Naga Siva Prasad Ravella is a hands-on technical leader and manager with over 15 years of experience in architecting, designing, and delivering large-scale distributed network analytics systems and SaaS-based payment and identity management solutions. He is currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Harness, where he is responsible for driving technology and innovation, engineering process, and practices, people management, execution, operations, and project management. Naga has a strong product and architectural vision with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proven ability to collaborate, communicate, advocate, and execute on that vision. He has demonstrated experience in setting up, managing, and growing mid- to large-sized teams that have generated immense tech leverage for the business and contributed directly to the top- and bottom-lines of the company. He is known for his abilities to execute multiple simultaneous projects and multiple product versions coupled with strong technical competency, attention to detail, and the ability to solve complex problems for customers and products. Naga has practiced agile methodologies and shipped software with high velocity while experimenting and promoting customer-focused innovation. He has received the Huawei Individual gold medal award, the highest individual award in Huawei global R&D. In his previous role at Huawei, Naga founded the Bangalore team and scaled it up to 20 members specialized in microservices and in the payment domain within the span of 9 months. He worked with the Product and Engineering management and envisioned Payment platform openness, which contributed directly to top-line business growth. He also improved payment platform key measures, system success rate from 99% to 99.96%, scaled the system to handle peak loads of 1200 TPS, and improved the p99 latency by 2x by continuously analyzing and optimizing the systems by applying various cloud design (Resiliency and scalability) patterns. Naga holds a Master’s degree in Digital Electronics & Advanced Communications from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from R.V.R. & J.C. College of Engineering. He also has experience in Higher Secondary Education and High School. His technical skills include Microservices, AWS, HDFS, Redis, Java, Docker, NoSQL, Kafka, Spring Boot, Jenkins, DevOps, UI, SQL, and web technologies.
